Buffalo & Leopard Hunt, Tete, Moçambique 2009 - 14 days


Hunt Location: Tete Concession, Tete Province, Northern Moçambique.

Safari Duration: 14 (fourteen) Days

Species on Offer:1 X Buffalo US$ 4 000 1 X Leopard US$ 6 500

Optional Species Available: As per the attached "Huntleigh Mocambique Safaris & Turismo" document.

NOTE: Any shots fired at Hippo and Crocodile will be regarded as having wounded or killed the animal and trophy fees will be charged without exception.

Total Cost of Package: 1X1 US$ 22 400.00- Including hunters daily rate, trophy fees & permit costs.

Air Charter: Private charter from Grand Central direct to Tete, via Polokwane and return - approximately US$5 000 (to be confirmed)
OR

Commercial flight from OR Tambo International (JHB) via Maputo to Tete and return, should not be more than US$850 (this would however need to be confirmed on date of booking).

Airport Taxes: US$ 190.00/person
Hunting License: US$ 200.00/person (paid on booking, non-refundable)
Rifle License: US$ 150.00/rifle (paid on booking, non-refundable)

Additional Costs:

- All taxidermy charges -dipping, packaging, shipping, crating, insurance and associated costs incurred with the handling and forwarding trophies to the required destination.
- International and charter flights
- Items of personal use, personal expenses, such as gifts, curios -Accommodation before and after contracted safari dates
- CITES permits (where required) The client to apply for Cites import permits as Moçambique issues export permits by Ministry of Agriculture.
- Staff gratuities & tips (at the clients discretion)
- Satellite telephone usage.

The Daily Tariff Includes:

- Coffee/Tea and rusks, early morning before the hunt.
- All accommodation, brunch and dinner
- Reasonable amount of alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages
- Services of a licensed professional hunter.
- Service of trackers, skinners, kitchen and camp staff
- The service of 4x4 hunting vehicles
- Laundry services


TERMS & CONDITIONS

Insurance

Clients are advised that they are not covered by any insurance and must therefore obtain their own insurance.

Liability

Even though every possible care is taken to safeguard our Clients and their property, we cannot accept any responsibility for any accidents, injuries, illnesses or losses contracted or arising from any safari outfitted by us. Clients will be required to sign an indemnity form before departure on safari.

No responsibility can be taken for any arbitrary changes that the Government of the country we are hunting in may impose on licenses, quota, areas, fees, duties or taxes. We reserve the right to alter, cancel or withdraw any safari or any part of it; to refuse to accept or retain as a member of any safari or part of it, any person at any time; and to pass on to safari Clients any expenditure occasioned by delayed events or occurrences beyond our control. In case of appreciable variation in cost the right is reserved to make adjustments to rates.

Deposits/ Bookings

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total safari package is payable upon reservation. The balance is payable upon arrival at camp in Moçambique, with additional trophy fees and other costs incurred payable on completion of the safari. All payments must be made in US$. Preferably, no travellers cheques (Moçambique Government). On booking, the Client must provide 6 X colour passport photos, copy of the picture page of passport and copy of firearm permit. All safaris are to be booked at least twelve weeks in advance.

Safari Duration

The safari commences on the day of departure to the hunting area and ends on the day of departure from the hunting area.

Fire Arms

We need to be advised at least two months in advance of details concerning type, calibre, make, serial numbers and numbers of ammunition per firearm together with full details of your passport.

Correct rifles and calibres for the safari should be selected to cover the range of game the hunter wishes to take. We recommend a scope-sighted rifle of around .30 calibre for plains game and for dangerous game a minimum of .375. (Recommended 40 rounds per calibre).

Trophy Handling

Huntleigh Africa Safaris is responsible for all the field preparation of trophies. The services of reputable taxidermists, for preparation, disinfecting, insurance, exporting and mounting of trophies are available on request.

Huntleigh Africa Safaris will accept no responsibility for any trophies once they are handed over to the taxidermist.

Hunting Regulations

It is important to let us know trophy priorities well in advance in order that quota can be allocated. Clients are only permitted to hunt animals specified on their permits and for which a quota exists.

Vat

All prices exclude VAT and where applicable VAT will be charged at the host country's prevailing %. Moçambique VAT is charged 17% on the total daily rate.

All un-recovered wounded game will be charged for in full and where necessary will attract the prescribed % of VAT.


Photography

Filming of safaris is available upon request. The use of any photographic or video footage taken on the safari by Huntleigh Africa Safaris may be used by the company for advertising purposes without notice and without payment or permission.

Conditions

If a particular professional hunter is requested, but is unable to guide a safari because of illness, injury or any other reasonable cause, Huntleigh Africa Safaris reserves the right to substitute with another fully qualified professional hunter.

Rates are subject to change in the case of serious currency fluctuations.

We reserve the right to change an itinerary in the best interest of our Clients.

We reserve the right to change any of the above conditions by written notice.

In the event of the safari being postponed by the Client more than six weeks prior to the safari commencement date, all monies paid will be "carried over" by Huntleigh Africa Safaris to new dates available in the following season. In the event of the safari being postponed or cancelled by the Client less than six weeks prior to the safari commencement date, the cost of the safari may be retained by Huntleigh Africa Safaris as liquidated damages unless Huntleigh Africa Safaris is able to fill the same safari dates with a newly acquired Client. In the event of the safari being cancelled or postponed by the fault of Huntleigh Africa Safaris, all monies paid will be refunded to the Client.

General Information

1. Huntleigh Tete, Tete Province, the concession area is approximately 350 000 hectares (+/- 850 000acres) and is situated in North Western Moçambique, East of Lake Caborra Bassa. Tete is the closest town (approx. 130 km).

2. Number of hunters/guests - maximum 6.

3. All big five hunts are 1 X 1.

4. We adhere to the principal of fair chase, with all hunting taking place on foot. A vehicle will only be used under special circumstances, i.e. a disabled Client.

5. Hunting vehicles are well-equipped 4 wheel drive vehicles, with professional hunters and trackers always accompanying the Client.

6. Clothing; good boots (preferably two pairs), socks, reasonably warm jacket/jersey, shorts and longs (khaki or neutral earth colours) as well as a good shade hat/baseball cap is a must.

7. Personal medications must be brought along for chronic illnesses or allergies (please inform Huntleigh Africa Safaris beforehand). We have a well stocked first aid kits and are trained in most forms of field first aid. We do advise our Clients to take Malaria precautions, as this is a Malaria area.
