Здравствуйте! Вопрос к пользователям или тем, кто в курсе. Как работает УСМ HP-SFS и в чем его преимущества и недостатки перед обычными ударно-спусковыми механизмами? 
ИМХО, никаких преимуществ нет. Более того, мне вообще не нравится завязка УСМ на наличие/отсутствие магазина в пистолете - лишняя "грязь" при отработке спуска. Плюс идиотская конструкция рычага шептала, размещенного не в УСМ в рамке пистолета, как у подавляющего большинства конструкций, а отдельно от УСМ, в теле затвора...
А как он вообще работает? Если можно, опишите по подробнее пожалуйста.

Пистолеты GP-SFS с УСМ типа Safety Fast Shooting не имеют предохранителя в его обычном понимании. После взведения курка он нажатием пальца на его головку подается вперед, при этом боевая пружина остается сжатой, а рычажок на рамке автоматически поднимается вверх, блокируя затвор и шептало. При нажатии на рычажок 'предохранителя' курок автоматически возвращается во взведенное положение, так что пистолет оказывается готов к стрельбе в несамовзводном режиме. Такое необычное решение связано с необходимостью возможности безопасного ношения пистолета со спущенным курком, при сохранении возможности быстро открыть огонь в несамовзводном режиме (то есть с небольшим усилием на спуске, а значит - с более высокой точностью).

The FN HP-SFS allows for cocked and locked single action-style carry with the hammer down and slide locked. This two-pound pistol (empty) holds either a 10 or 13 round magazine and measures 7.9-inches in overall length. It is available chambered in 9mm or 40 S&W and can be carried safely with a cartridge in the chamber.
Safe and secure, the handling operations of this weapon are very quick and simple. Once the magazine is loaded into the pistol grip, draw the slide to the rear and allow it to move forward to introduce a cartridge into the chamber. The pistol is now ready to fire in single action mode. Now push the hammer forward, which generates three things; locking of the slide, locking of the sear and holding of the hammer in Fast Shooting forward position. By pushing the ambidextrous safety lever down, the user cancels the three safeties and sets the hammer in cocked position. The HP-SFS is now ready to shoot.
Carrying the pistol safely with a cartridge in the chamber is the basic ingenious operating principle of the HP-SFS. The hammer is in double action mode, although the weapon always fires in single action position, allowing the shooter to fire quickly and be more accurate from the first shot.
